La Casona del Molino is widely praised for its vibrant atmosphere that celebrates Argentine folklore through live music, singing, and dancing, creating an engaging and communal experience. The restaurant’s traditional Creole cuisine, particularly its parrillada and empanadas, receives strong commendations for taste and portion size, making it popular among both locals and tourists. While the lively setting is a major draw, some patrons note that the outdoor seating near the grill can lead to lingering smells, and occasional inconsistencies in meat preparation have been reported. The venue tends to be busy at night, prompting recommendations for early arrival or reservations. Overall, it is valued for its authentic ambiance, quality food, and friendly service.

This is a must experience if visiting Salta! Come at night with a group of friends/family and experience the Pena which is singing and enjoyment of Argentine folklore songs. The atmosphere is friendly, welcoming and overall a fun community vibe. There are many areas within this restaurant where you can here different songs played and sung. Dancing is also welcomed. It seems as patrons bring their own instrument and provide the entertainment throughout the restaurant. There is inside and outside seating. The indoor seating is rather limited. I preferred the outside seating as there was plenty of space and didn't feel claustrophobic. The food at La Casona is great. Typical Argentine dishes from steaks to empanadas to local stews. Wine and beer also complements dishes as expected. We arrived in the late evening and had to wait in line. This place is definitely popular. We didn't leave until the early morning hours and still a line out the door to get in. Such a great experience and definitely recommend.

Came here to experience a pena and the atmosphere is definitely good. Came without a reservation at 9pm and took 30min to q. There's a lot of areas and I sat outdoors right in front of the grill which of course proves to leave your clothes with a smell thereafter. Ordered meat empanadas, melted cheese with herbs and vacio steak. The steak was a disaster. Asked for med rare but it was very tough. The worst was that it was a very bad cut. I have no idea what I'm eating and it was so difficult to cut and it just wasn't a normal steak. Prices are good though. Come here to experience the atmosphere but have low expectations for food. The music depends on who is in each area, mostly folklore songs. It is slightly away from the main square so you will need uber.

Amazing parrillada and the meats were great. The “parrillada para dos “ special was Cheap considering the quantity and the tastiness, since it comes with a side too. Great spot for tourtists, would recommend going in the afternoon for lunch, since it’s much less packed than at night.

Easy uber from center. Waited in line for 45 min (arrived before opening). Good experience. Music is a hit or miss depending on where you sit. Overall fun experience, would do again .

Had the best time and food here. We had the grill platter for 2 people, great portion size. Food came quite quickly too. We were able to make a reservation via WhatsApp the day of, came at 9pm and got ushered to a table immediately. Food was served promptly. We also had the sangria, very tasty and sweet. Prices are very reasonable too. $19,000 for the platter.
